Screen 6 Leave Payment On Termination

There are two possible formats: Screen 6 Leave Payment on Termination & Screen 6 Long Term Leave LSL

Screen 6 Leave Payments on Termination

Where the leave Method for the Leave Type set for this Leave Definition is Long Term this screen will replace the normal screen 6.

Tax Reporting Interval:
Where there is a period of years that must pass before the value of the leave may be taken into account for Tax reporting purposes set the number of years here.
Termination Payout Interval:
Where there is a period of years that must pass before the leave must be paid out on termination of the employee set the number of years here.

The next three fields control the calculation method that will be used for the leave.

Period Selector:

The actual leave paid out is derived from the payment history for the employee. This field allows you to select from three different history regimes.

  • Average The Hours due are based on the average of the hours worked for the whole of the accrual period.
  • Best Of The hours due are based on the best (highest number of hours worked per year) X years [X is set at the Contribution Years field] of the last Y years [Y is set at the Review Years field].
  • Most Recent The hours due are based on the most recent Y years [Y is set at the Calculation Years field].
Review:

This sets the number of years that should be reviewed to determine the Leave Hours that are due. Where Field 3 [Selector] is set to Most Recent all of the years are used in the calculation. Where Field 3 [Selector] is set to Best Of the number of year set at Field 5 [Contribution] is used for the calculation.

Note This field is not active where the setting for Field 3 [Period Selector] is Average.

Contribution:

This allows you to set the number of years that will be selected from the Reviewed Years to form the basis of the leave accrual.

Note this field is active only where Field 3 [Period Selector] is set to Best Of.

Screen 6 Long Term Leave LSL

This screen allows you to set how leave will be paid out upon termination.

Last Year:

This may be set to either.

  • None Leave is not required to be paid out upon termination.
  • Hours Due The payment for leave accrued prior to the start of the Current Leave Year is based on the hours of leave due to the employee.
Current Year:

This may be set to:

  • None Leave is not required to be paid out upon termination.
  • Hours Due The payment for leave accrued during the Current Leave Year is based on the hours of leave due to the employee for the Current Leave Year.
  • Dollars Due The payment for leave accrued during the Current Leave Year is based on the value of the Termination Dollars paid to the employee during the Current Leave Year. Termination Dollars are the dollars paid with Pay Items with the Termination Dollars flag set to Yes.
Termination Percentage:

Where Dollars Due is selected for Field 2 the value [of the Dollars Due] is multiplied by the rate set here to obtain the base amount for Termination Pay.

Note that, where the setting for Field 2 is Dollars Due, the actual amount calculated by the Termination Function on the pay screen for Current Year Leave is the result derived from the settings on this screen less the dollar amount already paid for this leave during the Current Year.
