| Leave Period: | This sets the units for the next two fields below. [Weeks, Fortnights or Months]. |
| Accrual Periods: |
| | This sets the period over which Leave will accrue.
The rate of accrual will be faster the shorter the Accrual Period. For example, some
sick leave accrues over a period of three months [13 weeks].
The number set here should not be more that the number of Periods [Set at Field 1]
in a year. [52 for weeks, 26 for fortnights & 12 for months]. |
| Availability: | This restricts the availability of the leave on the pay screen even though it has been
accrued. For example some sick leave is not available until the employee has worked
for three months [13 weeks] and annual leave is (strictly) not available during there
year in which it is accrued, though many organisations find it convenient to allow
leave to be taken earlier than this. Set this field to 0 where the leave is to be
available immediately. |
| Leave Life: | Some leave expires if it nor taken within a certain period. Where this is the case
the “life” in years may be set here. This sets the number of years after the year in
which it was accrued the leave remains available. Set this to 0 where the leave
remains available indefinitely. |
| Becomes: | Some awards specify that when leave expires according to the parameter set in Field 4
it is converted to another Type of Leave. Typically annual leave is converted to sick
leave. Leave this field blank unless this is the case for the Leave Type specified
for this Definition at the start of the Wizard. |
