Parent Assets

Parent assets provide a method for grouping together assets into a single asset. This can be useful where and asset is composed of a number of parts or has capitalized creation costs. Individual components can be depreciated and disposed of separately.

Code:A unique identifier that is assigned to this asset.
Description:The name given to this asset.
Category:A depreciation category assigned to this asset, individual assets assigned to the parent can have separate depreciation rates.
Type:A type code for this asset determining where it appears on ledger reports.
Group:A grouping code that helps breaking up this asset for reports.

The Assets tab lists details of individual assets assigned to this parent.

The Depreciation tab shows the total depreciation of all the assets making up this parent asset.
