Parent Assets¶
Parent assets provide a method for grouping together assets into a single asset. This can be useful where and asset is composed of a number of parts or has capitalized creation costs. Individual components can be depreciated and disposed of separately.
| Code: | A unique identifier that is assigned to this asset. |

| Description: | The name given to this asset. |
| Category: | A depreciation category assigned to this asset, individual assets assigned to the parent can have separate depreciation rates. |
| Type: | A type code for this asset determining where it appears on ledger reports. |
| Group: | A grouping code that helps breaking up this asset for reports. |
The Assets tab lists details of individual assets assigned to this parent.
The Depreciation tab shows the total depreciation of all the assets making up this parent asset.
