Code Fields

Codes are strings of characters that provide a convenient means of accessing a record. Where a screen has a Subject, which is identified by a code, that code is presented in the first field on the screen. The most common characters used in codes are numbers and the alphabet. Numbers take precedence over alphabetic characters in determining the order of presentation. Spaces are not permitted in Codes.
